| Hi Gini, "I'm stressed." It's become such a throwaway phrase, hasn't it? Like "I'm fine" or "just busy." But let's be honest… for most of us right now, "stressed" doesn't even begin to cover it. How could it? So when someone asks how you're doing, you just say "stressed," even though there are a million different things on your mind. Here's what I've noticed after years of helping people tap through this: when stress stays vague, it stays stuck. It lives in your body as this general heaviness that you can't seem to shake. But when you get specific, and actually name the thing sitting on your chest, something shifts. Your brain and body finally have something real to work with. So let me ask you directly: Which one is it right now? "I'm stressed about money" — the bills, the decisions, the fear that there's never quite enough. "I'm stressed about my health" — the symptom that won't go away, the appointment I keep putting off, the worry I can't shake. "I'm stressed about my kids" — their struggles, their choices, the constant weight of wondering if I'm doing enough. "I'm stressed about my relationship" — the distance, the tension, the conversation we keep almost having but don't. "I'm stressed about work" — the pressure, the politics, the exhaustion of never being caught up. "I'm stressed about the future" — the uncertainty, the decisions, the feeling that I should have more figured out by now. "I'm stressed about family" — the worry over everyone, the dynamics that drain me, the history I can't escape. "I'm stressed about the world" — the news, the chaos, the feeling that everything is spinning faster than I can keep up with. Read through that list one more time. Which one made your chest tighten the most? Which one are you already trying to skip past, because it feels so overwhelming? That's the one. That's what you need to tap on. We built an entire category in the app called "I'm Stressed About..." specifically for this. Not generic stress relief, but sessions that address exactly what you need to address… that help you let go of exactly what you need to let go of. → I'm Stressed About Work → I'm Stressed About Money → I'm Stressed About My Health → I'm Stressed About My Children → I'm Stressed About My Spouse → I'm Stressed About Uncertainty → I'm Stressed About the World When you tap on the specific thing that's really bothering you — not just stress in general, but YOUR stress — the body can finally start to let it go. Until next time… Keep Tapping! Nick Ortner P.S. You don't need to be in crisis to use these. Sometimes the stress that needs attention most is the kind that's been there so long it just feels normal. The low hum you've stopped noticing. That counts too. P.P.S. Did you catch our exciting announcement on Wednesday? We wrote a new book! It's called REWIRED and it's a culmination of all we've learned over the last few decades, from the research, from stories from people like you, and from our own hands-on experience with Tapping. We hope you're going to love it! You can pre-order your copy (and access a bunch of great bonuses to tide you over until the book comes out) here. |
