Gini, Did you know that 90% of Americans don't consume the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables? While that's way too high, the impact of that 90% is even greater. The U.S. food system itself is a major cause of poor health. It's adding to a systemic lack of access to healthy foods that's existed in communities of people from racial and ethnic minority groups for generations, and contributed to the health problems many living in those communities face. Good food is essential for preventing, slowing, and reversing nutrition-related chronic diseases. That's why Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) is helping ensure that we all have access to good food and breaking down historic barriers to food equity in the process. |

Our goal is a healthier America — after all, it's in our name. We're achieving that by focusing on where our efforts are needed most. Earlier this year, we launched our Food Equity Opportunity Map, which uses census, income, and health data to show people what food equity looks like in their community for the first time. |
|
The map is helping inform actions we can all take to improve food quality and accessibility. It's also a tool PHA uses in our fight for food equity. As we continue to build on its foundation, it will show all the progress we've made in the fight for a healthier future. Gini, thank you for being a part of our community of supporters. We all know the U.S. food system needs improvement. Our work together is proof that positive health outcomes are achievable. Together we will build a just food system that supports us all, Jason Wilson Head of Communications Partnership for a Healthier America P.S. Interested in sparking change in your community?
