Every night recently, my 3-year-old son Ellis and I have a new ritual... He picks a card from the Kids' Confidence Deck in the app – he loves seeing what animal comes up and has so much fun with it. Now, Ellis is still pretty young, so I didn't expect him to necessarily do the Tapping that goes with each card. But the other night, he pressed the "play" button on the Quick Tap, and started Tapping along with the video. I can't tell you how emotional that moment made me! π₯Ή
For those of you who don't know, my 10-year-old daughter June leads the 2-minute Quick Tap videos for the Kid's Card Deck (I couldn't be more proud of her!). So there I was that night, watching my son follow along and tap with his older sister. Talk about a dream-come-true, heart-full-to-bursting dad moment right there! | | After recently launching this new feature in the app, we've been getting lots of great feedback from other parents who are saying their kids are also loving the cards.
But here's something I didn't see coming:
Adults are loving using the cards, too. | | Tracy said: "This deck is so lovely, I've been choosing a card for myself each day, it's great to be a child again for a little while." Pauline wrote: "I'm 70 years young and have been choosing one each day… I'm finding them so relevant for my inner child and my adult self too."
Linda said: "These Tapping meditations for children are helping a kid in her late 70s - namely, me! They're not just good - they're outstanding! π" | | Look, these 45 cards were designed for kids... (The 2-minute tap-along videos are working magic for bedtime battles, morning meltdowns, and homework struggles. Kids are actually asking to do them. I know, amazing right?)
But they're also helping stressed-out adults remember that "Small steps lead to big things" and "I am proud of what makes me, me." Apparently, we all need to hear these things sometimes.
If you've got kids (or an inner child that needs some love), these cards are waiting in the app right now. | | | | |
Until next time... Keep Tapping! Nick Ortner
