Gini, We can't believe it's already October! As the school year ramps up, and the leaves begin to change, we're so grateful to have people like you standing with us. You're making our work possible in communities across the country. Over the weekend, President Biden signed a stopgap bill into law that prevented a government shutdown and funds the government through November 17. This is good news for the Farm Bill because it means that work can continue to ensure this legislation meets the needs of all Americans. We'll keep you posted about the progress of the Farm Bill as it moves forward. You can read more about what the Farm Bill is and how it affects more than just farming on our blog. October 16 is World Food Day so we'll be celebrating all that we've done together — and raising awareness about what we still have to accomplish. Keep an eye out for a special message and continue reading for the latest in the fight for good food: |

The White House Conference: One Year Later |
On September 28, 2022, the White House held the first Conference on Hunger, Health, and Nutrition in over 50 years. Out of that Conference came a commitment by the administration to a national strategy, and a challenge for all sectors to end hunger and improve nutrition. As we celebrate a year since that momentous event, we look back on what we've accomplished since the Conference. |
PHA stands firm in its commitment to the goals of the national strategy, and to connecting families with 100 million servings of produce by the end of 2025. We're doing this by actively working with the private, public, and nonprofit sector to improve health outcomes for millions of Americans, specifically in underserved communities. We celebrate a year of progress, and know that there is still much work to be done. We also know that this work cannot be done alone. PHA will continue engaging with the administration, with partners across sectors, and with you to create a healthy food future for everyone. You can learn more about our impact over the last year in our Progress Report. |
