Gini, At Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), we believe that change must begin at the community level. That's why we're working alongside communities to transform local food systems. And there's no better example of this than Doris Haynes Miller's work in the Mississippi Delta. Doris was born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She studied and worked all over Europe — but her love of family and community brought her back home. She currently serves as both PHA's Project Community Liaison for our Delta work and also as the founder and CEO of a local non-profit, Dreams, Hope, and Miracles, Inc. |

Doris became passionate about addressing health disparities after she lost her father and other close family members to cancer. But she realized that young people were missing from the conversation around food and health equity. At PHA, Doris is working on giving young people a voice and empowering them to lead healthy lives. She's connecting them with avenues that teach them how to create healthier twists on traditional Southern recipes. She's also excited to bring our Good Food for All program to early childhood education centers in Clarksdale this summer. |

We're grateful to be able to work alongside inspiring changemakers like Doris, making an impact to improve the food systems in their communities. We all have a role in making food equity a reality. We hope you'll continue following along with us to learn more about transformation like this around the country. Together we will achieve good food for all, Jason Wilson Head of Communications Partnership for a Healthier America |
