Gini, Growing up in Venezuela, Perla always had access to fresh mangoes from a mango tree in the front yard of her childhood home. But when she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska with her daughter, there weren't any mango trees around. She was starting over in America and it was hard to adjust, particularly to the cold, midwest winters. Partnership for a Healthier America's (PHA) Good Food for All program helped Perla find warmth in her new community while Perla was applying for her work permit in 2021. The program provided her and her daughter healthy, nutritious food for 12 weeks - right when it was needed most. |

The regular access to high-quality produce made it easier for Perla to focus on feeding her daughter lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Since receiving the boxes, Perla continues to center her family's meals around vegetables. PHA is creating long-lasting change for people like Perla in communities around the country. Perla's story is shared by the more than 20,000 families we connected to fresh produce through our Good Food for All program in the last year. I hope you'll consider supporting this important work. Please, make a gift to help us fight for Food Equity so everyone, in every zip code, can access good food. Together, we are strengthening communities, Jason Wilson Head of Communications Partnership for a Healthier America |
